Manassas (Va.) Osbourn Park High School athlete Dominique Terrell lists 15 scholarship offers, including Miami.

"I'm really interested in Miami," he said. "I've been getting mail from them. They send notes saying how their tradition is, quotes, things like that."

Of what he likes about UM, Terrell said, "it's big time down there, the ACC, the tradition there, and I like how they are down there."

Terrell says he plans to narrow his list to "five or six" schools by the start of his season.

"Miami's a definite to be in there," Terrell said. "West Virginia is also definitely in there, and Texas Tech.

"I have no favorites, not right now."

So far he's visited West Virginia, Virginia Tech and Virginia.

"Hopefully this fall I'll go to a Miami game and check out the campus," Terrell said.

He says distance "doesn't matter" in his decision.

And he's spoken with Cane freshman Travis Williams, who is also from Virginia.

"I've talked to him a couple of times," Terrell said. "He talked about how they're starting a new tradition this year. I met him at a seven on seven tournament and we've stayed in touch."

As a junior Terrell played quarterback, safety and did some returns. He ran for 1,300 yards and threw for 900. He missed three games with a sprained ankle.
